Wall has a small working sheep farm and occasionally breeds one of her BCs; she sent a pup from a recent litter to Benjamin, a dog trainer who lives in NY, to be a service dog for Benjamin. Wall herself kept a puppy from the litter and trained it as a working sheepdog.
The book is about the parallel lives of the littermates, and has enough adorable-puppy chapters in it to be completely charming. The way Benjamin's service dog takes to her job is impressive and heartwarming.
This isn't just for Border Collie people, it's a nice read for anyone who likes dogs. Actually, I thought of Amanda when I read it because of her love for training service dogs!
