post-surgery care question

Postby emmas_mom » Fri May 20, 2016 9:19 am

It's been a while since I had a dog in need of anesthetic for surgery. Emma (11 year old lab who lives with my ex) had surgery yesterday to remove a tennis-ball sized fast growing but non-malignant lump from her lower front leg. She's feeling sorry for herself this morning. I'm trying to remember what it is one usually gives to help flush the residual anesthetic from the system and provide support to the body post-surgery?

I gave milk thistle to help the liver as it processed the drugs, and probiotics if pre- or post-surgery treatment included antibiotics at any point.
