Scarlett has started yelping a couple times a day when she gets up. She will be 13 in April and I have managed to keep her off pain meds all this time even with her arthritis, but I have pretty much exhausted the natural remedies for her. I'm making an appointment on Friday to get her on pain meds. The problem is she has a very sensitive stomach hopefully there is something they can give her with them that will help her stomach.
She is still happy and ornery otherwise. I had to lock her in the house today to keep her from going down the back pasture.
Poor Scarlett, I hope your able to find something safe to manage the discomfort/pain.
I'm very impressed with Flexxil, Dillon is on Flexxil for his ruptured cruciate, and Athena is getting it now for her HD. They did OK on DGP, but it didn't seem to give as dramatic an improvement as the Flexxil.
I'm heading out in a few minutes. I really hope the meds can give her a good quality of life for a few more years. I feel good I have gotten her this far without them. I knew if we started in at 6 she would be dead by now from organ failure. At least now a few more good years doesn't sound so bad.
