Some good thoughts for the Turd, please!

Postby Carson_Crazies » Tue Jan 27, 2009 8:28 am

Ginger's always had two or three bumps on her skin - pimpleish. They've been there for years and years and years. Anyhow, within the past week or so one of them has grown a growth of some kind on top of it. I'll try to post a pic later - but I'm concerned. I've got her an appt. early Saturday to have my vet take a look, but wouldn't mind some good thoughts. I'm having all kinds of scary tumor thoughts over here. :(

I hope it's something they can easily remove and that won't require any further treatment. Sending good luck and health vibes for the Turd.

Hope it's just a skin tag! Abby's got one on her neck that the vet cauterized a few years back, but it's returned. Fingers crossed for the Turd!

Lots and lots of good thoughts for Ginger that this is no big deal. Oliver has a couple of pimple-ish bumps too. So far no changes in them but I watch closely. They scare me!

Here's hoping that its no big deal and the Turd is just worrying you because...well...because she's a turd!

It does look reminiscent of a skin tag - like a little mole thingie. But still, I'll feel better having Dr P look at it. When I noticed it the end was red, but now it's the same color as the rest of it -and it doesn't appear to hurt.

That looks an awful lot like some of the bumps on a former client dog. I took her to the vet a couple of times for her owner and the vet said they were almost always benign. We biopsied a couple and they were just cysts. Hope that's all it is for Ginger, too.

I looked at the pictures and I have no idea what it is  Major vibes headed to the Turd for a diagnosis of 'nothing to worry about' :)

Prayers going out here (at 4 am!). Maggie yesterday gave me a scare with an Ugly Nose Thing but it's just that she's getting sun sensitive in her old age. Whew. Best wishes for an equally upbeat diagnosis Sat.

If it makes you feel any better, in older dogs, growths like that are often a dime a dozen. My old boy has some, and my really old girl had some as well. I liken them to liver spots in people, only, they are a bit larger and uglier... Good luck with the appt, and try not to worry!

Thanks guys! I'm not freaking out too much (shoot, after last night a bump seems like a non-issue, right?) actually. But because it changed I want to make sure everyting is OK. It really looks warty to me. *shrug* Ginger's giving me the stink eye over messing with it repeatedly though.
