P-chan's Xmas present

Postby Pchan » Fri Dec 29, 2006 8:32 pm

Our first dog crate arrived yesterday! Little did I know how quickly P-chan would take to it - the rescue didn't think she liked them much, but they only used plastic or wire. As soon as I set it up, I put her blanket and a new bully stick in, and she hasn't left all night! OK, except for some bites of my spinach & artichoke dip :lick: She wasn't phased a bit when I zipped the door shut for a while either. I swear, P-chan must be thinking "It's about time I finally get my very own room!" Look at the self-satisfied grin on her face lol

I guess the big question tonight will be whether she chooses to stay in the crate out in the living room, or up with us on our bed

It looks like you could use it for camping lol ... I wanna know why you got it?
I would just leave it unzip. Don't want to freak her out the first night!

That's awesome! I love that she just crated herself like no biggie! :) That *is* a great smile! She reminds me of black beans! (the Asian kind, of course)

hehe thanks! she gets that same little almost-smirk when she's enjoying "daddy time" - right after he gets home and falls on the couch, she hops up to lay out next to him

jennifer, i decided that in case of emergency or a need to travel long distances with her, it'd be best to get her used to an appropriate crate (the cat carrier i had to use once when she was having diarrhea just didn't cut it and she was miserable). of course, this forum helped me to realize that (just search for "crate" and you'll find some useful threads!) i did a lot of shopping around, and found this one on special, so decided what better time than now?

MP, i think i know what you're talking about lol oh and that reminds me, i think you'll appreciate these onesies i bought as gifts for my friends' babies rofl:

That is a stylin' crate. Keep the flap open, she looks so happy there. There's nothing better than having your own space :)

OMG! I *DO* appreciate those onesies!!! That's awesome!!

With that kind of ricecooker on the outfit, that baby is going to be asking for an Induction Heating model like this for her first birthday!

OK, sorry for the rice-burning hijack! :lick:

Now that MP is officially the only crate-less dog, I must make it a priority to get one. I've been meaning to, and realize how much I should have one. Bad mama!

She's adorable!

Be careful though- we thought Buddy enjoyed his until he went right through the zippered part! Tsk-tsk...

"A Room of Her Own" - essential for every self-respecting woman, according to Virginia Woolfe. Nice work, P-Chan. My dogs think they should get a whole human room of their own, and neither will have anything to do with crates. I may have to look for one like that on sale - I've only tried plastic and wire.

"A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is going to write" (Woolfe, 1929). Toss some money in there with P-Chan, and hand her the keyboard, will ya?! I wanna see what she has to say!!

That is one happy pup! It looks like Pchan is going to love her crate. That is how Scarlett was she climbed in the one I bought and was at home in one ever since.
