So cute! I can practically smell the puppy breath and just want to snuggle him (though I'm sure he would wiggle away!). Enjoy him!

We went through a lot of names and even spent a day with a couple of them, just to try them out. DH was disappointed that the names he'd originally picked didn't fit the pup. We both sat down with our iPads and started to research - I was looking for famous Danes and he was looking at whatever. I think he Googled "Nerdy Dog Names". Someone mentioned pixel, and since DH designs software for the visual effects industry, it made perfect sense.

he should be honored to be named after a 2 1/2 pound dog AND The Cat Who Walks Through Walls. Just don't let him get a swelled PuddinHead.

He is so CUTE! He looks like he has some terrier (Jack Russell?) in his family tree. Do you know what they descended from?

Sherri - since they were all purpose farmdogs, I suspect there was definitely some terrier in there. They are technically pinschers, but they are effective ratters, herders, and retrievers, so I suspect they've got a little bit of everything in there.

I'm constantly being asked if he's a JRT or a beagle. As a friend pointed out, I deserve it after calling her black and white aussies tail-less border collies for so long.

He should be 17 lbs or less. His dad is 16.5 lbs and his mother is about 14.5. I'm hoping he'll be on the smaller side for flyball and couch sharing sake. :)

well dang it, i know i replied to this right after you posted it.

anyway, he is freakin' adorable! ha ha, he does kinda look like a Beagle Jack!

glad to hear how well he's settling in. so.... were the kids totally excited when they first met him?

oh, love the name, too.

this pretty much confirms that Pi will not be the one & only puppy i ever have. puppies are just irresistible!!
