loaner dog!

Postby QBert » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:21 am

Pi's mama agreed to let me share some photos of the little mush!

She's a doll, just as agreeable as you please, and although she hasn't formed any particular friendships among the mutants, she is comfortable with them and is very polite.

"these tiny dogs are funny looking!"

she really is darling. a very pretty Frenchie and just a sweet, sweet girl. I'm so very glad that Amanda posted her story and gave me the chance to have a little bit of Spring Break with her! Her family is nearby, and we check in frequently, I'm able to send pics by phone so mama can share her adventures without having to stress while she tends to that beautiful little boy of hers.

Can't be a pitcher's dog and not be good at playing fetch....

there is that. ha! I didn't realize he's a pitcher!

Boogity's BFF is off at a dog show and she was forced to run her idiot laps all alone yesterday but during the evening session Pi joined in and ran with her. At first I thought she was just chasing Boog, but then I realized Boogie had actually slowed down so Pi could keep up and stay in the game. Butt tucked under and churning those fat little legs for all she's worth, while Boog loped along, they had a good time!

Pi always, always lets her tongue slip out when she's snoozing.

her tongue just slips out a bit every time she falls asleep. Poor thing wakes up with the tip of it all dry. ick.

she still thinks the puppies are hilarious.

Haha! She's done the tongue thing since she was a puppy. She sure looks comfy. I am impressed by the wall of crates in the background. And who wouldn't think the hairless ear taped mutants are hilarious? They look like tons of fun too!

she's so freakin' cute.

hey, does she make that high pitch scream noise i've seen Frenchie's make in youtube videos? it's kinda horrendous, i hope she doesn't do it. of course, she has no reason to be demanding or annoying at your house, she's livin' the life every dog dreams about!

i may have to re-think my No Small Dogs rule now that i've seen Piper...

From what I understand (my cousins have a pair of them), Frenchies aren't "Small Dogs"; they're full sized dogs in kind of compact bodies. My cousin claims that's why they weigh more than they look like they will. You ready for another puppy already?

there's nothing "small dog" about her other than her actual physical space occupation capacity and feeding requirements. Full-sized dog, just super high density. (Doctor Who fans will understand when I say I believe the breed may have been developed by the Slitheen...)
I haven't yet heard her make any effort at the noise you describe - and I know the noise well - but I'm sure she's quite capable of it if she feels the need.

Hooray for Piper!

Kara, I'm so glad you were able to have Pi as a guest of honour in your family for awhile and just as glad that she's back with her original family now. You really do rock, in case no one has told you that lately.

Yay! How'd the reunion go? I haven't had a chance to talk to L yet. She was worried Piper wouldn't remember her or that she'd not want to come home. Hopefully all was wonderful. Thank you again, so much, Kara. You gave them a priceless gift and I know they are so grateful. I am, too! You're amazing!!

the only disappointing element is that arrangements worked out such that L wasn't able to be part of the initial hand-off. Piper and I met up with "Daddy" and he took her the rest of the way home.
I wa first to arrive at our meeting place, and was sitting in the van with the sliding door open, Pi in her crate. When he got there I stood up to greet him, and when he first looked into the car to see her, Pi was just "great, another goof peering at me, time to be adorable." - then she gave the faintest soft little whine, almost "awww, this guy sounds a lot like my... DADDY!!!!!!!" I got her out and she just exploded into a wiggling mass of glee. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that she'll be beside herself with joy to see her mama again too.

I feel really lucky to have been able to be a part of helping keep this beautiful family together.
