Banjo and the Busy Boyz

Postby connie » Mon Mar 04, 2013 7:59 pm

Not great pics, but good enough, I hope, to show that Banjo is fitting right in here. He's right in the Busy Boyz games -- that would be Beau and Rowley -- and takes charge of a tennis ball.

The game involves a soccer ball, which I kick and Rowley goes after like a rocket; Beau goes after Rowley; Rowley has to not only capture the soccer ball but elude Beau on the way back to me. The soccer ball is deflated enough that Beau *can* grab it from Rowley's mouth, so this means Rowley has some broken-field running to do.

Banjo's part of the game seems to be to run along after them, barking -- around his tennis ball. :stupid: M'kay.

Afterwards, Beau goes from racing demon to nap mode in about five seconds, but he heard the camera and gave me a dirty look. That piebald dog in the shot behind Beau is Banjo, whose coat isn't growing back in very quickly.

bwahahaha, gotta love a dog that barks around the tennis ball in their mouth! there was a young Golden at the dog park that could do that. it was hilarious!

i love hearing how well Banjo is settling in. don't worry Banjo, full coats are *totally* over-rated. your unique and you've got character!!

I love how he's made a place for himself in your group so smoothly (or apparently smoothly, from the other side of a computer monitor). Good for Banjo! His coat will probably grow in just in time for the summer heat. Isn't that always how those kinds of things work?

Banjo does look like he fits right in, and I love the picture of Beau napping. I like black dogs.

Good for Banjo for finding his place so quickly. It seems like he walking in and made himself right at home like he'd been living with you his whole life.

I love seeing dogs playing together - I seldom see that with any dogs I adopt. As for Banjo's hair, it always amazes me how long it takes baldy dogs to grow their hair back. Mitiz's naked foot is still completely naked weeks later. On the other hand, my own hair needs cutting every four weeks, and floofy dogs who haven't gone bald seem to need to visit the groomer at least that often.
Mom to Maggie. Ever remembering Sadie, Charley, Caleb, Belle, Oliver, Shiloh, Eddie, Mitzi, Allie and Emma.

some of that can be due to where the dog is in their shed cycle when the damage occurs. If those follicles weren't geared up for active growth, you may have to wait for an entire cycle to pass before new growth really comes through And if the follicles were badly damaged, new growth can take much much longer if it comes back at all. A gentle exfoliating scrub can sometimes help stimulate the skin and keep the faster-growing undercoat from crowding out guard hairs.
