He's 2 and was supposed to be a show dog/breed stock but has something that showed up about his elbow so the breeder sold him to my friend's daughter.
He'll have a better life. For some reason he was kept in a kennel environment with outdoor yard to run around and was never house trained!
So we offered to host him this weekend while his new mom is out of town, rather than have him go back to the kennel and set him back in training.
So far he has nosed the bells 3 times to go out and he stands by the door the other times. He knows sit verbally and with hand gesture. And.....so far..... no accidents in the house. But I'm not taking any chances just yet. We have him in rooms away from our newest furniture. He does mark a LOT outdoors and I'm not taking any chances inside, although he hasn't marked anything in the allowed rooms.
He's also eating dehydrated raw food from a provider in South Jersey that my Weim friend is using for her dogs. The place usually provides raw meat, but has gotten into dehydrated. I like it. Mostly meat. And he LOVES it.
Right now he's laying on the floor (he prefers that to bedding....I guess more like his kennel was) and sucking gently on a huge stuffed toy. SO reminds me of how Frieda would go to sleep. awwwwwww
Our weekend guest.
