I have 2 klee kais in my neighbourhood. They are so cute, just 1 of them not that great with other dogs. They "talk" a lot, I've heard howling but not shrieking...

No guesses on Curly Sue's breed? She came a long, long way to Minnesota. DEFINITELY not a common breed.

There was also a petite woman there today with a Newf and a Saint Bernard. Don't see Saints that often!
Lagotto?

A family at our church shows a Dandie Dinmont. He's super cute. I should have taken his picture. Next time.

I have a SPINONE pup starting class on Saturday! that will be fun! I've never had a spinone pup in class, just a couple adults here and there.

I almost had a Lagotto in class, the woman sort of disappeared so I'm assuming she was just kicking tires.

And, not a rare "breed" but an uncommon mix, I have a Vizsla/Puli pup in class right now. She's so freaking adorable. and SO ON IT. I love her, and her owner too! The breeder had a 'whoopsie' breeding, but seemed to own up to it and did everything 'right' in terms of raising the pups - env enrichment, sound DS, etc etc - despite them not being of much "value" to his kennel/name.

That's got to be interesting! What type of coat does it have? Scruffy?

I had a Novice Class with a Glen of Imaal Terrer named Wheeler. Adorable and very vocal. He had an opinion about everything.

lol, regional variance strikes again. My vet breeds and shows Glens, I don't think of them as being a rare breed since I see them all the time. Fun little critters.

Ok,ok, the rarest breed I've been with is a Pumi. Sadly, Crickett has cancer and we hope he pulls through. He is a top agility dog.

Being St Paddy's day today, it seems fitting to add pics of the Irish Wolfhound I hike with regularly - Keaghan is about a year and a half and still growing. The third photo shows him in my house - those armchairs (under the pile of coats)are 36" high. The neat thing is that Keaghan is sooooo in tune with his size and space - always very careful around little dogs etc.

What a pretty boy! The latest I've seen was a white borzoi in the vet's office today. Pretty dog, very alert. I wouldn't say it was standoffish, it just didn't feel the need to interact with anyone.

went on a Craigslist adventure this morning to buy some stuff, and got to meet the seller's Filas and Patterdale Terriers (she was tickled that I recognized both breeds at a glance) and her Beagles, which are hardly a rare breed but these were Beagles in hard working condition, that go out hunting regularly. Quite a leap from the average Beagle I get to see! Got a little horsehair under my fingernails too as we walked around greeting and scritching everyone. Nice start to the day!

A Skye Terrier! It's been a few years since I saw one in person, and those only at shows. I had one as a grooming client. .. oh.... about 20 years ago.

I've got an English Shepherd pup who just started class last week - not common around here! (neither are his owners, they are amazeballs!)

Met my first Italian Spinone today! Lovely dog - beautiful temperment but she didn't hesitate to put my friend's young overly rambunctious Irish Wolfhound in his place  They had a great time playing in the river together. Ambra, the spinone, is 3 years old and Keaghan, the wolfhound, is 20 months. Ten year old Eddie thought these two waterbabies were out of their minds - he stayed safely on shore out of range of wet dogs and cameras.

A PWD was on our short list of breeds because DH's friend had one. So smart and trainable but super goofy.

Another for the "not rare but seldom-seen" category: Tibetan Spaniel. I get to see him for his evening walk for a few days. He's absurd. I like him.
