I'm trying to put together a way of getting this guy http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/2279 ... g-Provo-UT from Provo to Seattle. Yes, he's an Akita and yes I'm going to lie about it just like I did with Ruffy and yes, we'll probably get dissed by most Asca judges but it's better than letting them think they won
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. I checked petfinder for some local talent but there's not much beyond the purebreds.
Seems to me I've read about a networking of long haul truckers in the southwest and west all the way up the coast that help with rescue transports sometimes. Can't recall the details, but will post back if I can find anything.
Thanks for the ideas all. So far we've got him to Boise, ID. If I can find someone to get him to either Lewiston or Cour d alene I can take it the rest of the way. He's arriving in Boise a week from today. Any contacts or help will be greatly appreciated. I'm going to contact the Boise animal shelter and see if they've got any fosters out there that wold be willing to help
Don't forget about Pilots 'N Paws as well - they fly rescue dogs for free. There are lots of small recreational planes that fly between Boise and Seattle or Arlington regularly in June - glider pilots also have major events in these areas this month and there are also small planes at those events. Here's the link: http://pilotsnpaws.org/ .
Thanks again to all of you. The rescue org got him to Boise, then it was a long drive over and the next day a long drive back with my new little buddy (50# is little to me ). Anyway, him and Tulip are getting along great, he's had no training but soeks it up like a sponge and will be making his sheep debut on Sunday, More pics soon
