Sheila Booth's Purely Positive Training

Postby Calypso » Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:51 am

Has anyone read this book? It's suggested reading on the CPDT test list and it's wonderful! The woman is a cross over trainer who works with German Shepards and Malinois and she trains in Schutzhund. I think it's a must read for any crossover trainer or for anyone who thinks you can't be successful with purely positive (but NOT permissive) training. Her writing style is very good and she covers some of the psychology terms, but in very understandable layman's style.

Now I have to decide if I'm going to conveniently forget to return the book to work or buy my own copy. I'm thinking since it's one of the office manager's favorite books I'll have to buy my own. :P
