So my mom casually mentioned that when she retired she might like to breed labs. Knowing my mom, by the time she's telling people she's thinking about something, she's made up her mind to do it. This is 5-10 years off before she retires. Also, she lives in the country where health tests, contracts and titles aren't going to get her much when the neighbor wants a puppy. Knowing her, the dogs would be well taken care of but would be "outside" dogs, with shelter in the machine shed (heated) but not house pets. She has no interest in showing, just thought it might be a hobby. What resources can I give her to either persuade her to do it right or dissuade her altogether? Help!
