Hi folks,
I've been lurking for a bit, but wanted to write a notice that Elsie passed away a couple weeks ago. She was over 14, and only this past year did she start showing her age (she actually looked REALLY different in pictures a year ago this time vs just recently), and in the last month of her life she had a very sudden and rapid decline. It looked at first like typical CCD symptoms, but it very quickly became clear that she was beyond the 'happy crazy" that I saw with Max. I saw a video on the FB flash back thing, and Max really was 'happy crazy'. Elsie was "sad crazy". She was becoming increasingly distressed, crying, etc. We started gabapentin, but she was still feeling awful. On Sunday May 15th we said good bye with the help of our vet. She was my "heart dog".

I'm so very sorry things came to a difficult end, Emily. You took such good care of her though, and I'm sure she appreciated it.

You know I adored her from afar, right? I am missing her, but she was so lucky you loved her enough to let her go from the painful and confused place she was in. So sorry.
