Well, at flyball last night I called Pixel by his actual name, Pickles, Pick, Pixie, Brat, Beast, and Stinky and he responded well to each one. :P

I guess the real problem isn't the dog. If you told Paul you hated Phil (despite their being NO LOGICAL REASON :) ), and he kept calling the dog Phil, how would you react??

Maybe this will work. I just sent her an e-mail suggesting Filbert (Fil) . Maybe she won't notice the similarity.

Hmmm. Good point, Yankee. Paul got to name Havana because he wasn't crazy about another dog in the house (but he'd already promised!!!!), but if he had another name for her, not sure how I'd feel.

I think the names Princess Rainbow Lollypop and HappyHoneyFluffyButt are still available for someone to use. As is PuppyHead.

I like Filbert. I hope that wouldn't be prophetic and the dog turned out to be a nut.

The breeder wrote last night and asked if we wanted a Friday or Saturday pick-up date. We said Friday, but haven't heard back.
People keep saying they like Phil, but she's not budging. What do people think about swear (sawyer). My grandson started kindergarten this year and wanted his best friend swear (like a bad word) to come. Before he came, they had a school open house and saw that the kid who sat next to him was Sawyer ;)

We are getting him at 2 o'clock tomorrow!! Of course it's supposed to snow with slippery conditions, and it's 80 miles away.
I think she's still zeroed in on Quin (cy or "Q"), with a close second being Sawyer (swear or Soybean). How can I save face on here - she's going to pick him out AND name him. I can see it now. How embarrassing!!! The alternative is listening to her complain about the dog or name for the next 15 years. :)

Squeeeee! New puppy!!! For awhile anyway, if you provide plenty of pictures and silly puppy stories we'll be too distracted to tease you about being overruled on every front. :)

How exciting! Have a safe trip and take lots of pictures. If you need help with those, don't be shy about asking. :)

I'm sure you'll love the pup no matter what the name, and we'll love hearing all of your stories.
You should plan on your very own corgi pup for later this summer that you will name Filbert, or Phil. I am such an enabler!

He'll probably be your shadow no matter who picked him out and named him. :)

Oooooh! How about Stan? We were going to name Cousteau Stan until I thought of Cousteau. (How's that for a weird sentance?)

I had a cat named Sh!theed once...(Tiger when company came over but she only responded to her given name). I am anti "Filbert" but only because I have an annoying SIL with two annoying Szhi's named "Filbert" and "Doodles". I agree, he'll be on your heels enough that it won't matter what you call him!

Well, it's snowing like mad - almost a white out. Our appointment is at 2. There are only two people picking out puppies today (the other is getting a female). Everyone else is going tomorrow, I believe. I hope it's not so bad we can't go.

Well, you could name him Blizzard or Whiteout or Snowball (:) ) or Drifter or Vortex or Polar.

Or Quin. :)

Lots more snow today than they predicted! But, at least over here, it's supposed to stop by noon, so hopefully that's enough time for them to clear the roads so you can safely get to Phil/Quinn/Harry. :)

We were leaving at noon for our 2 pm appt. I just started to bring my wife to work, couldn't go over 20mph on the highway and we turned around. Cars and tractor trailers all over the place. When we visited the breeder last week, it took us an hour and a half or so to get there (just west of Boston), and 3 and a half hours to get home because it started to snow. I think we'll leave in half an hour.

All went well. Of course my camera isn't working - tho I got a couple of pics before it stopped working. Noname is doing great. The whole thing was a little odd though. Of the 12 pups, we and one other family, picked up our pups today. The rest are picking theirs up this weekend. The other family had a female (of four) and we had the male (of which there were 8). Strange thing was we got asked by them via text if we wanted to pickup today. We said yes, of course. We really had first pick as it turns out, despite our being second to last with our deposit. There was one puppy she said was very pushy and that was going to someone that trained german shepherds. I think the breeder screwed up. We were torn over which one to take. We were down to one of the largest or one of the smallest. She recommended, and we took, the smaller because of its looks and that she had chosen that one for us based on temperament. The odd part: As we were leaving she said there was a couple who were from Ct and were second to last with their deposit (that's us I think). Then she said she told them they would not be able to pick their puppy on Friday for that reason, even though they had called and wanted to. I did not say anything , but probably should have. I feel badly for that other family. She must have mixed us up? Oh, well.
Chloe was not happy when we introduced them I never saw so much snapping and bared teeth. We had them on different sides of a metal gate. In any event, within an hour they were running around playing and having a great time. That's a big relief. Besides the bad camera, and my computer which is not letting me open up pictures, I'll bother Judy tomorrow to post pics. He's a cutie.
The grandkids came over tonight and are all saying they want Baxter. Oy.

That all sounds pretty good to me. Chloe! She *had* to voice her opinion to save face and keep up appearances if only for a little while. I hope they turn out to be good pals.

What's in a name? That which we call a Phil by any other name would smell as sweet. LOL

You are making me want a puppy now. But I think I will sit back and enjoy every minute of your delight instead.

Hugs and kisses to .....Quin. (I do like that name, although I'm favoring Phil.)
