Imagine my surprise when I came back from a quick bathroom break to find a handsome gentleman and his family chatting with Henry and another volunteer, and then learned that it was Yankee (and Mrs. Yankee and grandson Yankee)! I was tickled pink that they came out to the pet show to meet us! It was so nice to put a voice to the words on a screen, and get to meet someone in person that I've "known" online for so many years. I can tell you all that Yankee is just as charming and kind in person as he is in print.
The pet show was fun and Henry was a rockstar

. I was a little worried at first, because it was loud and chaotic (tons of vendors, plus an AKC dog and TICA cat show, a meet the breeds exhibit, and several demonstrations) and there were a ton of people. Henry just soaked it all up, though, greeting strangers, taking treats, and being charming. His tail never stopped wagging the whole day. By the end of the show there were people coming back (for the third or fourth time) just to say good bye to him before they left.
