awesome, good luck with the process! (not that you'll need it...) and of course, if it falls through, there is always Lucy... :P

Home visit is next Sunday not today. Amy is away this week, up in Canada on vacation. :) She's been here before, so she knows it's safe, but we have to cross all the t's and dot all the i's and submit all the forms. And she's bringing Henry and her dog, so it will be wonderful for me to have them visiting!

It was good! It was really just a paperwork thing - all the forms have to be filled in, t's crossed and i's dotted. Then we spent a couple of hours visiting. Henry is adorable. He has a couple of other applications, but he hasn't been medically cleared for adoption yet, so it's really just a matter of waiting, or seeing if there is another dog that seems like a good fit.

We've adopted out a lot of dogs lately, so there aren't many waiting in foster care right now (which is a good thing!) A few that aren't ready for adoption, one that is only so so with other dogs (I want a dog that's dog friendly so that the option of a second or third down the road some day isn't off the table), and one that's battling some pretty medical issues so is likely a forever foster. Of course, those are only the ones I know about; there are others that aren't posted yet for various reasons but might be available for me to adopt if it seems like a good fit.

So....I wait. :)

Oooooh, look who just showed up on the website as ready for adoption! Tiki. He looks kind of fluffy for a beagle, probably a mix? But he sounds pretty wonderful!

Oh boy, Tiki is a cutie also! I am following this with great interest. It's like a reality TV show -- which Beagle will Sherri give the rose to? LOL!

I'm sure the beagle is hoping for an RMB instead. Can't wait to hear which one chooses you!

It's hard for me too! Last night Henry was my date for Bark in the Park (bring your friendly dog to the local minor league ball game). Photo evidence for those of you not on facebook!

OMG you guys, check out Bailey! (his name should be a clickable link to his video)

He needs a diet, but how much fun is he? He's 9 or so years old, but he sure doesn't act like it.

His profile: Bailey

Bailey seems like he'd be a great match. I'd want to give that little white spot on the back of his upper neck a scratch or two. :) Is he one that the rescue is considering for you?

Yes, definitely considering Bailey now. In the best of both worlds, I'd bring both him AND Henry home with me. :) Bailey is older and bigger, but he's more active. Henry is almost too sedate, though he's actually getting more active as he gets more comfortable and confident.

And the verdict is.....Henry! If, in a couple of months, after Henry is settled in, Bailey is still looking for a forever home then we're going to talk about him coming to join us. For now I'm most comfortable with one new addition at a time. :)

I have a couple of work commitments in the evening the first part of September, and I need to make final arrangements with a dog walker, so we expect Henry to come to me either 9/13 or 9/20.

I'm so happy at the thought of coming home to a dog again that I'm about ready to burst.
