It's been WAAAAY too long since I've been on ODO, and I miss everyone!
I try to read when I can but don't always make time to post. Anyway. Some news
The fiance and I saw online, visited in person, and promptly fell in love with a 10 year old Basset at a local animal control facility
Her name is Becky and she is as sweet as can be!
I can't believe someone would just abandon an old dog at the shelter
She is in good shape, other than missing a LOT of teeth (looks like she had a dental recently as there are some stitches in her gums). She has bladder stones as well, so will be having surgery this week, and we've submitted an application to adopt her!
For those of you who've gone from two dogs to three, is it a big adjustment? I feel like Nutmeg and Spratley are a true unit, and they've been best buddies for almost five years now. I think it's more my perception than anything - Spratmeg are onedogsamedog in many ways, and I think it will be odd to see an extra dog in the pack! But, I know that dogs are much more flexible and fluid than that, and I'm sure she'll fit in. Becky is a good match personality and energy wise (we had a meet-and-greet and they all ignored each other - score!
Anyway - eeps! I am so excited I can hardly concentrate on anything else!
