Why I love Fraggle

Postby EllaBella » Mon Mar 04, 2013 5:09 pm

I seriously love my Fraggle-dog. She is so laid back that you can almost forget she is around sometimes, especially with her tendency to hide under furniture and not come when called, but she really is awesome.

I worked from home today, and had a bit of a moment from work stress/hormonalness/life, and just started crying. Fraggle immediately woke up from her nap spot under K's little trampoline, ran over to me, and started whimpering while bouncing wanting to get into my lap. I invited her up, and she leaned into me, leaning up on her back legs so she could put her head on my shoulder, and just sort of nuzzled into my neck/shoulder area and started making these strange silly little harrumphing sigh noises while burrowing as close as she could. It was just so sweet. She stayed there until I had calmed down, then gave me a few kisses (yuck, that mouth has been horrible places) and went right back to napping under the trampoline.

She is like my personal therapy dog. I selfishly keep her all for me because I so need it. :wow:

(Also, I don't generally actually forget about her, just so we are clear. She is just so not-demanding)

Awww I'm sorry about feeling sad. Glad Fraggle could comfort you. It's a mystery to me how non-dog people get through.

She is very very *interested* in the chickens. When she was at my mom's (before I got her) she liked to chase and playbow at her chickens.

Luckily the fenced dog yard area is the opposite side of the house from the chicken coop/run so she doesn't get near them.

She is still trying to convince the cats to play with her...it's been about 4.5 years and she is still trying. Naru is starting to consider it--she will hold still and let Fraggle bounce around her for 30 seconds or so.

I was just thinking about Fraggle today! I don't know how I'd get through life without a dog to help me get over the rough patches. I'm glad she was there to cheer you up. :)

We do actually lose her in the house on occasion---we keep the bedroom doors closed to keep the cats out, but if Fraggle gets a chance she sneaks in and under a bed, where she just goes to sleep and ignores you when you call because she LOVES being under furniture. You have to actually demonstrate to her (by sticking your head under the bed) that you have located her before she will come out. I do these rounds most mornings. The 3year old kid is very prone to opening and closing doors randomly giving her these opportunities....

what a sweet, sweet girl your Fraggle is. i'm glad she was there for you today. i bet she was really happy to have you at home all day, too.

my mental image of her bouncing around trying to engage Naru in some play time is adorable. and, i admire her persistence.

I love it. What a good girl.

Except for the hiding under beds and not coming when called, of course. ;) That cracked me up! lol

She knows her job, make you laugh, comfort you and occassionally annoy you with her "hide and go seek" games. Job well done, Fraggle.
