I tried to log on from work and thought maybe my IT department had started blocking the site. When I got home and couldn't access it either I was almost relieved...for awhile.

I haven't been on the site much lately and was really bummed that I couldn't get on yesterday when I finally had some free time to spend on here! So glad it's back.

Good thing then when the motherboard manufacturer gave me my options for the needed replacement BIOS as send it to them for replacement (a week or two), or order a new one from a third party (five days), I chose option three: find someone who has an EPROM programmer and program it myself.

Looks like English to me. There are just two acronyms included there:
BIOS = Basic Input Output System
EPROM = Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory

Of course, since the BIOS chip is actually a type of flash memory chip it's technically an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory), but since this particular type of flash memory chip has hardware built-in for erasing and rewriting itself, it technically does not qualify as ROM.

Oh, and some people might refer to the motherboard as a mainboard.

I hope that clears things up for you.
