Super news. I bet it is a combination of pheromones and your hard work lifting that deep seated depression. Marvelous!

Re: Polycystic kidney disease & liver trouble

What heart breaking news, Tatyana. The only other thing I can think of is that tumors can create feelings of nausea, too. It seems like from the positive response to anti inflammatory, the pressure on his stomach may be the cause for lack of appetite. But if you think nausea is at play, I know Remer...

Re: MP had another seizure-y thing :(

Aw, Nana. And MP. :-( In my limited experience, seizures were sometimes more dramatic with paddling or circling and sometimes just flopping over and semi consciousness as described here. There were times Iggy cat made sounds and times he didn't. And all told he had about 6 episodes before we got his...

Are any of those foods newer for him or bigger quantity of that food than he has had before. Almost sounds like an allergic reaction.

So, Nana, you believe you would actually know what crazy, leaky brain fluid would taste like and could identify it by licking??

How is she today?

Re: *sigh* Hemagiosarcoma

Emily, our lab mix, Jesse, was 15.5 when she was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma. She suddenly had collapsed with a sort of seizure and could not stand on her back legs. Gums were white. She was in cardiovascular shock and we nearly lost her. Xrays showed masses near the liver and spleen. I knew we w...

What a wonderful remembrance of such a charming and lovely dog. Pofi totally gets the fear of Dad cooking. Hasn't happened in years, but he has never forgotten how often Ken used to set the smoke detector off!! Night night, Pretty Gold Dog. You are lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

Hi, Frank! Sorry to hear about Rocco's injury after coming so far with improvement on his poorly paws. Hope the last paw and his soft tissue injury clear up soon. Pofi is also 10.5 years old, BTW! Well, I need a drumroll, because, we had a bandage change today and all is healing well. And we got the...

Hi, Emma's Mom. Have been meaning to get here to update. Surgeon was pleased with how it went and how need did with very light sedation. When we picked him up here pulled me out of the clinic with the strength worthy of a sled dog! He was really happy to get home and ate well. Slept well. Ca...

Re: Need good thoughts on Po's toe

Connie, my vet was sort of talking out loud about whether to do a chest X-ray. Verbal processing and he came to, "No, not indicated or useful.". Don't think a spur as we did get X-ray of foot about 6 weeks ago and no indication of any bone issue. I just keep second guessing myself on what if there i...

Re: Need good thoughts on Po's toe

Thank you so much, Judy and Sherri. Thanks for that context, Judy. And on the chest x-ray, yes, I probably want one, but not sure if I need it PRIOR to toe amputation. I think perhaps if they can manage it while he is under, fine. Or I'd follow up later, but regardless of what it showed, I would wan...

Re: Need good thoughts on Po's toe

Pathologist believes it is a tumor, but could not conclusively say whether cells were benign or malignant. Either way it is causing him pain, so rather than doing a core biopsy on such a small area, I believe we will take the toe. Vet and I are discussing whether to do a chest x-ray in advance of su...

Re: Need good thoughts on Po's toe

Thank you all, especially for relating other toe related stories. I am reasonably okay with the thought of losing a toe, just alarmed at how much better he seemed 8 or 9 days ago and how painful it seems to be. He desperately wanted a walk yesterday, so we took him on one. We suggested he take a bre...

No experience of dogs on Tramadol, but I see constipation listed as one of the more common side effects. So glad you can give her something more to bring the swelling down, though!

Need good thoughts on Po's toe

Hi all. Can't bring myself to post on FB, but have updated Pofi's original toe thread, but it seems to be less swollen, but suddenly much more painful. He is limping pretty badly. Vet today aspirated the toe which is thicker than the same toe on right foot and there are some questionable cells, so o...

Re: Pofi, Prednisone and infected nail bed

Hi, Frank: Rocco and Pofi are even the same age as well as having the same affliction. We really thought we had overcome his issues after 6 weeks of Cephalexan. Last dose was Monday the 15th. And at first, no more licking and he seemed completely himself again. But this week he started limping on th...

Yeah, white coat syndrome can lead to a slightly elevated bp. This vet visit sounds like it was productive! Glad you had the video to share.
