Re: Interesting..hair analysis results

I couldn't find a dog home page in English that explained it well, but it is the same in humans almost. It is based on bio resonance, so energy. Here is some more information: http://www.qplus.net/product/vitality_health/bio_resonaance_hair_analysis/ which looked decent based on a quick glance. The ...

Re: Interesting..hair analysis results

Ok, she just called me back to. Ehrlichiosis can be from other bug bites, not only ticks. She says it could have been quite a while ago as it is really slow in progressing. It may not even show in a blood test necessarily. She is sending me some homeopatic medication and will test again in 8-10 week...

Re: Interesting..hair analysis results

Oh, also interesting, she noted that there is a electro smog around his sleeping place: his dog bed is next to powerplug, so I will move that... and that there is some heart meridian going on, so some heart rythm irregularities, which she thinks is from bakteria toxins. Oh and not to feed past 2.30p...

Interesting..hair analysis results

So I decided to do a hair analysis with Ranger, simply because it was relatively cheap and a friend was supppperr happy with what it did for her dog. There are a couple things on there that I need to call the lady about, because I am not sure (e.g. she says there's indication for tape worms and ehrl...

Re: anal glands issues

I do them internally too. Ranger is reaaalllyy easy with this stuff though, he won't move at all and seems to feel better afterwards. I can see how they could get infected with external expression. I think I will wait and see what the hair analysis says and then maybe go to the vet here and see what...

Re: anal glands issues

So did you take Brinka to the vet each time? And isn't the infection risk similar considering that they may not always do them perfectly either. I am still hoping that it'll resolve itself again with better stools. Maybe the hair analysis will tell me something too that I can try. If not, I hope to ...

Re: anal glands issues

Yeah I read about the fiber too, but atm am worried about adding anything. I am hoping the hair analysis will tell me where his GI issues may come from and what he can tolerate and what not and based on the recommendations work on getting him on better food and in return better stools... I was just ...

anal glands issues

Hi everyone, so as a new dog owner with friends who never had dogs with anal gland issues I never knew about them really until my friend mentioned ranger expressed them over her car seat after a vet visit. He never showed any obvious sign of discomfort, though looking back I know he had issues start...

Re: Shop Dogs

No store dog experience, but the pet store where I used to live had a store parrot (or for sale?) and the employees used to walk around with it on their shoulders or heads and the parrot would stare you down if you stopped to ask the employee something lol pretty darn cute.

Re: Which food to introduce again?

So I have another question. I found a dog food specialist in my area. I do want ranger on better food, but I am concerned about doing a full new diet again. I would introduce it slowly if course, but the id has been the only one he has gained weight on and been somewhat healthy. I would be sure to g...

Re: Which food to introduce again?

I don't want to do a full elimination diet yet. Since it is likely that I will move again in a couple months, it is just too messy. Also, I will likely not be able to do a full homecooked meal anyway and will have to add kibble and/or canned foods. So I was thinking about just trying to find out wha...

Which food to introduce again?

Hi everyone, So now that I am settled again at least for a little while, I would like to add a fresh food again to Ranger's diet. I think I will start with one and see what happens? I was thinking cooked chicken maybe? Or some veggies? Chicken would just be nice because I could use it as treats. Pro...

Re: cats and dogs

Update: So far so good. My cat has realized that if he hisses at Ranger madly, Ranger will back away. And he is brave enough to do so, at least while he is on a lab and/or up high. He still runs if he is on the floor. But he is starting to walk by pretty closely, and yesterday when he wanted to come...

Re: cats and dogs

Yeah, I just feel bad for my cat. He has been an only pet for almost 10 years, now there is this stranger in the house that chases him if he walks anywhere (although we do keep Ranger in a crate, etc.), but still incidences happen. Plus he loves sleeping in my bed, but now even if Ranger is crated h...

Re: cats and dogs

So we had an incidence today. The living room door was left open by accident, my mom was standing at the end of the hallway and my cat happened to come up from the basement. Ranger saw him and charged towards him, which my cat did not expect since he was facing the opposite way. Both my mom and I in...

Re: cats and dogs

It does not look like herding, but I have also not let him just run around. If I notice my cat move I take him by the collar. If I am not there they are strictly seperated. I am surprised by how calm both of them are right now, at least while my cat isn't moving haha.

Re: cats and dogs

So far the dynamics are interesting. Ranger really does not care about my cat as long as he is on a piece of furniture. Today my cat was even in my lab and Ranger not even 2 feet away on the floor dozing, but looking at us occasionally and he did not care. We are able to walk right past the cat as l...

Re: cats and dogs

Yeah so far so good. My cat is certainly not happy about it, but who can blame him. They were both free in the living room last night already though. Ranger slept on my left on the floor next to the couch and my cat was on the top of the couch on the right with a living room table between them. My c...

Re: cats and dogs

Even after only a few hours I have a feeling this will work out. My ca is irritated, understandably, and is trying to avoid being close to Ranger, yet he is also starring at him and realizing that Ranger is crated he just flondered into my lab giving Ranger the most teasing look haha. Poor Ranger do...

Re: Flying your dog

Lufthansa was great. I was there 3.5 hours early, but they let me go out until the very last moment to play with Ranger. Got him back immediately after landing really and he seemed pretty chill. A little confused and all, but happy to go potty and sniff all those new German smells. 2 hour car ride w...

Re: Guardy Fannie

I'm sorry you have to go through this. How stressful for everyone. I get mad too sometimes. Last week Ranger fell back into an older habit of chasing another dog while snapping at her. Ok, she kind of invaded his space first, but he came back when I called. 5 minutes later the dog was pretty far off...

Anyone want some supplements?

Hey. Since I am moving and Ranger isn't on a raw diet anymore anyway I was wondering if anyone is interested in the supplements I still have? I am leaving Friday so I would need to ship them out asap. Am willing to give very cheap plus shipping. Unopen: NOW Zinc 50mg 250 tablets NOW E400 50 softgels...

Turns out the airline actually requires one of the bottles. Bowl is voluntary. I guess I will try and see if he will use it, I hope so :/

Re: Yay Testosterone

I think I am lucky with Ranger. He was neutered at 5 months, but he really does not act like a male at all haha. I saw his penis like twice maybe. He does not mark and he does not lift his leg (ok, he tried once or twice but I tipped him over: he has no balance anyway and all the male BC I know pee ...

cats and dogs

Hi everyone, So, since I am moving back to Germany soon, I will have to face the difficulty of getting my cat in Germany used to living with a dog. My cat is turning 10 in May and has lived with us since he was a kitten. We never had another pet besides him, although he did grew up with cats when he...

Re: Flying your dog

The airline requires that there are 2 bowls attached to the crate door, one for water and one for food. So I think I will just do that, and tape a bag of food and bottle of water to the crate. I think the airline staff is supposed to at least water the dogs on the flight. Ranger already hates drinki...

Re: Flying your dog

No I know no food in the bowl, but they ask to leave food with the dog and water, I don't think they allow me to put anything in the bowls. They will fill it as needed from what I understood. Ranger has never used a pee pad, so I don't know if he'd even use it. But he may be ok, the flight is only 1...

Ok so this is becoming real. Most likely a direct flight afterall though. Any recommendations on how to make this as comfortable for Ranger as possible? update

Hello everyone, Just thought I'd give a quick update as some of you have been following Rangers GI health adventure. Well, everything is going good right now. At the end of November he had finally gained weight, up to 39lbs, which is the healthiest weight he has ever had. He still gets diarrhea occa...
