Re: Wake up MP from bad dreams...or no?

she does have a peanut face! And putting a shirt on her isn't so bad, I make my dog wear far more torturous things (ie boots and snowsuits). MP is so cute!

Re: New puppy questions

<t>An idea for the sweet pops-<br/> I sometimes freeze plain yogurt mixed with chicken broth (low sodium or homeade) in ice cube trays and give those to my dog. She looooves them in the summer, and she's freakishly picky. There are doggy 'popsicles' available commercially, but they're way overpriced...

Re: Dog behaving badly

<t>So sorry your dogs aren't getting along so well. One thing I've found helps my only dog deal with other dogs is a sort of joint-training approach (her best dog friend comes over for playdates, and my dog acts all nasty, same when I bring her to my mom's house with 4 dogs). You might want to get a...

<t>Hi everyone<br/> I'm Alissa, and the caretaker (slave) to a ~2.5yr old rescued chihuahua/terrier/everything else mix. I rescued her a year and a half ago from a high-kill shelter So now she's spoiled rotten and pretty well trained...except her personal space issues. When I'm not catering to Ella,...

Re: Biking with Your Dog -- Bad Idea?

I once went rollerblading with my mother's (not too well trained) 35lb eskie....you could say the dog and the spiked decorative wrought iron fence won, and I lost (ended up getting stiches). Biking sounds a bit safer, just avoid any spiked fences!

Re: If our dogs had careers

<t>I'm afraid Ella would have no choice but to be a runway model. She's overly dramatic about everything, extraordinarily sensitive, only lies on soft fluffy surfaces, and has occasional periods of anorexia...I don't know if she's worried about her weight or just not approving of her food. <br/> <br...

Re: Gingivitis?/bad breath

<t>I let her eat it in the kitchen, with the door closed (and me sitting on the floor to keep her company). After a while, I put the bone in her crate, and she got all upset....she went in it as instructed, but wouldn't chew on the bone, she just held it in her mouth whining loudly for 10 minutes, a...

Re: Gingivitis?/bad breath

<t>Well, I gave Ella a beef rib last night. It made a noticable difference in her teeth, I can't believe how easily so much of the junk came off!<br/> <br/> She was very hesitant to start chewing on it, she just stared and sniffed at it, then looked at me for a minute with her 'I don't get it' face....

Re: Gingivitis?/bad breath

<t>Bunni-<br/> <br/> Those pics of your dog's teeth are amazing! Maybe I'll try giving Ella some raw meaty bones....I'm sure she'd be thrilled. I've been contemplating trying to switch her from kibble mixed with home cooked eggs/veggies/meat/yogurt (she refuses all plain kibble) to raw, but it alway...

Re: Gingivitis?/bad breath

<t>Thanks for the advice! I'd like to send her for anaesthesia-free teeth cleaning, but I'm not sure if they'll get her teeth as clean....but perhaps clean enough. If possible, I'd rather not have to make her go under, since it's quite an ordeal (and she didn't do very well after she was spayed). Ha...

Gingivitis?/bad breath

<t>I've noticed my dog Ella, only 2 years old, has greenish/brownish spots near her gumline on some of her teeth. Besides that, her teeth are almost perfectly white (it's hard to brush the back one's well with her crazy tongue motion, but those don't have the dark stains). I'm currently trying the o...
