Re: Goodbye to the Cinnamondog website?

Oh man, $350/2 yrs is pretty high. If you want to keep it, I can try to move it to a cheaper hosting service if you like. (Sorry, I wasn't keeping up with what you were paying...) It is a super old site, though, in internet years (kinda like dog years!)—it's so little because screens were much lower...

Re: Wit's. End.

I'm sorry, so hard. :( I always run urinalysis at the same time as bloodwork, just as a thing. Might be worth doing. MP has some shakiness/wobbliness in the rear that my rehab vet has decided is basically a normal course of aging, exacerbated by all the compensation she has to do to protect the owie...

Re: A Max Update

Thanks for the update, Ashley! I hear you with old dogs—it is really effing HARD! I'm so glad you like the ophthalmologist! Liking the vet helps tremendously. Do you see a rehab vet for his owies? (Sorry, I can't remember anything...) If so, (or maybe even your regular vet might do it) trigger point...

WTF!! I can't believe the frequency and the severity with which they eff up all kinds of things, left and right! So angry for you!!! Many hugs and sanity vibes.

Re: Smokey diarrhea over 24 hrs

I would personally not give him any food at this point, aside from maybe a little low-sodium (better yet homemade) broth (provided he's not sensitive to whatever meat the broth is based) just because I'm so afraid of dehydration—but be prepared it might go right through him. I would try the vet much...

Re: Smokey diarrhea over 24 hrs

If it were me, it'd be vet time now—I think given Smokey's age and severity/length of the trouble he's having, I'd be worried about dehydration and all the things *that* can bring about, let alone whatever is causing the persistent diarrhea. Dehydration is no joke and can happen relatively quickly (...

Re: MP having lots of seizures :(

Thanks so much, everyone!! After the OMG-three-in-a-day on Friday, we are approaching the 48-hr seizure-free mark!!! Sheesh. I used to be glad when they were months apart. :( I'll take it, though! :) I downloaded a nice seizure tracking app that launches quickly and tapes/times it. I should've gotte...

Re: MP having lots of seizures :(

Thank you, friends, so much! <3 MP didn't have a seizure since Monday morning (and after increasing her gabapentin by 100 mg in the AM) but she had two this morning. :bawl: I didn't really see it coming because she was bright-eyed and nothing seemed amiss. Although, I was getting ready to go to a mo...

Re: MP having lots of seizures :(

Thanks so much, everyone!! :) I just got back from the vet and the liver values that were high were indeed ALT and AST, but my vet doesn't think we need to address it any way right now at this moment. However, she did start crying and said that it's looking likely that MP would have a brain tumor or...

Re: MP having lots of seizures :(

Thank you so much, Jean! <3 *tears*! (Hormones, fatigue, some kind of Mercury effery going on!!!) I'm kind of taken aback by how seemingly suddenly the frequency ramped up in the last few months. I guess it's a gradual-ish increase starting 2 years ago, but 2 in a day seriously kicked my ass. My reg...

Re: MP having lots of seizures :(

Thanks so much, Heather. My rehab vet (who Rx-ed the gaba) said to expect wobbliness to increase, and we're hoping she'll get used to it. I was afraid that some other scary thing was making her wobby, but she didn't have a reason to think so, so that's good. I messed up the calendar and didn't actua...

MP having lots of seizures :(

Hey guys, we could use some good thoughts and any advice. :) Bear with me while I try to get the history out. MP’s had occasional seizures that began 7/9/14. After that, she’d had another 4 months later, then nothing for 10 months. Another 7 months went by, then possibly one on 4/22/16 (didn’t see—j...

Re: Lady severe allergy & need a good vet

Poor Lady. :( If it were up to me, I would not do ACV, because any kind of open/irritated skin would be further aggravated by the acidity, even if it were to somehow help repel mites or whatever is causing the rash. Sometimes just some cold pack can alleviate symptoms (make sure no longer than 15 mi...

Re: Stomatitis- any experience?

Oh, Amanda. :( I hope TCM helps with the nose bleeds. Is it Yunnan Baiyao? It seemed at first that the steroids were helping with the symptoms—how frustrating. :( I'm sorry that you're having to put out fires as you go. Sending all healing everything your way. xoxo

Re: "Cyst" that keeps refilling :S

Thanks, guys! I looked up the active ingredient of Hibiclens and it looks like you can just get that (and they use it for animals a lot)—I'm totally going to get some soon (for future use), when soap & water ain't gonna cut it! Thanks, Sherri! I had never heard of Hibiclens so I looked it up—I should probably have some on hand, anyway! :) I also read that some people have had success with pressure—maybe so that the pocket will granulate shut? I'm just gonna hope it won't get as big as before. :)

"Cyst" that keeps refilling :S

Hey guys, MP had this big bump on the back/top of her neck, right where her harness rubs, for a few years now. Recently, it lost much of its hair and turned kind of dark, and it looked like some rogue tight testicle rolling around on her neck. While I'm pretty sure it wasn't bugging her, I was secre...
