Keep your fingers crossed for Ollie

We feed Canidae. A week or so ago he refused to eat it - the same day I got a new bag. Chloe had no problem with it. I got some cans of food which Ollie ate - albeit slowly. Then I got some dry food again - tho somewhat moist and small. He ate it - again slowly. Then I bought a bag of Blue. He will ...

yes - ironically that bobcat was caught and killed within 1/4 mile of my son's house. It attacked 3 people and was rabid.

Jill - I am so sorry. You sound so much like my wife when discussing Bailey - you probably remember some of his antics. In any case it's never easy, and my thoughts are with you.

Mags is gone

As I held her head in my hands a few minutes ago, I feel like she was looking at me with her big brown eyes saying "what are you doing to me"? It was awful. She was such a sweet dog.

Re: Mags fell down the stairs tonight

Actually I hadn't carried her at all. She weighs 55-59 pounds. Ironically, last night she could not do the stairs and I did lift her a stair or two at a time at bed time. She went down in the am with my wife - but wouldn't eat. Tonight she seems "okay". The tumor on her head is getting awful big. We...

Re: Mags fell down the stairs tonight

We've looked at a couple, but can't afford them!! Thanks for the gate idea. I don't know what Maggie's thinking, but I think she wants me to pick her up going up.

Mags fell down the stairs tonight

I was upstairs, my wife down, when I heard her fall down the stairs. She seems fine, but hesitated going down the one step from our deck later on. She seems to be having (as do we!) more and more trouble going up and down the stairs. I try to stay in front or back of her when possible to catch her i...

Re: Ollie's sick

The vet said Maggie's bump is some sort of tumor (it's hard as a rock). She said she could refer us to a specialty hospital/vet to do exploratory surgery, but thought it went too deep to actually consider removal. She did not recommend doing anything. I did not ask about ultimate prognosis, but she ...

What I haven't mentioned is that Maggie has a growth on the top of her head. All three have physicals tomorrow so we'll see how that works out.

No, Jean - but he's totally back to normal - even intiating play with Chloe. You can also see it in his eyes - which are back to their sharp penetrating selves. What a relief!

Re: Ollie's sick

Well, he's still sick - evidenced by slow moving and slow eating - but he did eat. He also did the stairs which he would not do last night. He wouldn't go out this am. Fortunately that didn't create any problems in the house while we were at work. He wouldn't go out tonight either, so a little while...

Ollie's sick

Last night he did not move when I got up in the dark - very unusual. This morning he plastered himself to my leg while I was shaving. He didn't eat breakfast. Tonight he was lying in a heap shivering (shaking) when we got home. He drank water and had a little to eat - but ate so slowly. We got an ap...
