Dog Urine - car seats

Not sure if this should be in NDR or not. I have a friend who's dog recently had surgery, and when her husband picked him up the next day, he was still doped up and drowsy from pain meds. The husband didn't even think about walking the dog before putting him in the car, and headed out. "Skeeter" had...

Re: Poor Molly, down again

Well, so far, Molly seems to be doing better. No more seizures, so we really believe it was from the Tramadol. The Dr. started her on Adaquin injections Tuesday, so hopefully that will help with her pain. She's got a good appetite and is getting around pretty well. She doesn't do a whole lot anyway ...

Poor Molly, down again

She hasn't relapsed with her previous possible auto-immune problems, but she wasn't feeling well this morning. I debated with myself to take her before I went to work, and decided I'd rather be safe than sorry. Her bloodwork is great, heart could be heard (she has a murmur, but we knew about that al...

I posted on FB, but wanted to send my condolences here, too. I am so sorry, Katie. Smidgen was one of the originals! I remember when she was born...it sure doesn't seem like it has been so long. Run free, Smidgen!

Interesting! I didn't realize Leela had passed, though :( I remember her being very, very sick a few years ago, when she went back to the family you trained her for, but never saw the outcome. I'm sorry to hear of it!

Re: How often do your dogs urinate?

I let mine out in the morning, they have breakfast in the shed outside, and I let them out again after breakfast. I also have a long day, and the small dogs and Abby are left with no outdoor access. (If it is too hot/cold/or weather is bad, they are all without outside access. For the most part, eve...

Re: Poor Choo-Choo: Ruptured Anal Gland

Hmm, I may try the warm epsom salts thing, but I don't know if she'll go for it. This time seems to be more painful to her than last time. I'm keeping a close eye on it, and while it looks bad, it is clean (as clean as it can be back there!) and she's on antibiotics. I just feel so bad for her! The ...

Poor Choo-Choo: Ruptured Anal Gland

Choo-Choo doesn't normally have anal glad problems, but this morning, I noticed she didn't seem to be feeling well. When we went outside, she kept scooting, so I knew she probably had an abscessed anal glad again. This happened 2ish years ago also. She has never had an issue with having to have them...

Re: Kayaking- with dogs!

Thanks, everyone! It was a lot of fun. Loomis isn't too keen on the water, but he didn't mind it. He is such a loyal little guy that he'd follow us (especially his daddy!) anywhere he could. It really surprised me that they both did so well in the Kayaks. Abby only almost flipped me once lol

Kayaking- with dogs!

Matt and I took Abby, Loomis, and the kayaks to the Tallapoosa river Sunday afternoon. This was their first big time out, and they did really well! We had a blast, and are looking forward to many more Kayak/dog trips later on. Abby realized how hot the sand was on one of the sand bars and stayed on ...

Waylon wouldn't eat anything that last night, which is when I *knew* he wasn't going to be coming out of it :( He did lick some chicken broth "popsicles", though. I'm sorry your SIL is having to go through this with her dog, it is so heartbreaking.

Re: Abandoned Dogs

No, they're weight isn't too bad, the male is thinner than the female. There really isn't any kind of SPCA/Animal control in that area. I don't even know if there is a pound in Tallapoosa county which is where they are located. They are beautiful dogs, I just don't know of anyone who could/would reh...
