Re: Getting dogs used to noises

Bella is not a fan of the soda stream either. Treats helped. She still gets up and leaves the room when she sees me get out the bottle for it. :)

Remember Pepsi the runaway?

My cousin's dog ran away a few days after she brought him home last year, and when she got him back, she bought him a GPS collar. Well, he was left at a friend's house while she and friend went out. Friend's kids let him into their supposedly secure yard (the pictures make it look quite secure - 6' ...

Husband vs dog

J thought "the husbands of [my] dogs all day friends" would relate to this. I was sitting on the floor trying to clip Bella's nails. He was standing near to us putting dishes away. Bella pulled her foot from me, and I said, "Honey..." in an "I need you to pay attention" way. J replied, "What?" Me: "...

Re: 1am Freak Out?

That was Bella for years. I rarely heard her; DH dealt with it. If I recall, the advice from ODO was to crate her every time she woke him up until she gave up the habit. (The years part is because we didn't ask for help eifht away and then didn't follow the advice at first, not because it took that ...

Yay for the yellow! I've already forgotten what the old new the,e looked like.

Any changes in the login loop limbo of mobile devices? I still can't get on via my phone, and I am afraid to logout on my iPad.

Re: Need good thoughts on Po's toe

Oh dear! Lots of NBD vibes.

I was reassured repeatedly that removing a toe is NBD if it comes to that, which I hope very much that it doesn't, and I had decided to go forward with it for Roscoe.

Re: Login loop

I apparently have remained logged in via my laptop for over a week, but I'm stuck in a login loop on my phone (which is what I've been trying to use the last week or so). I think I've cleared everythign there is to clear on it.

Ten years ago, we paid $70/night for in-home boarding until we (Bella) got kicked out. And we're cheap. I can only imagine how much people with money would pay these days!

Re: In Home Training...How Crazy Am I?

I think it's a great idea and there's very little risk, it seems. At least among my friends, a bringing home baby in home training would have been very welcome, so that could be a way to distinguish yourself from the competition.

Just to add more info: I'm good on Safari on my iPhone and iPad, except my "remember me" check mark never gets remembered. But I think that's a my phone issue than an ODO issue because it does it to me on my teacher forum too.

Re: Females fighting (again!)

While I agree that dog-dog aggression and dog-human aggression don't necessarily go hand in hand, if there is poor bite inhibition/serious damaging bites from a large powerful dog, a person trying to stop a dog fight can be severely injured.
That's a good point too, Heather. :(

Re: Females fighting (again!)

I don't think they're assuming she'll hurt someone because she hurt a dog. I read it as they're realizing they misjudged her aggression toward dogs and possibly they've misjudged her attitude toward people as well. I'm sorry they have to make that decision, Amanda, but I don't necesaarily fault them...

Re: Foxglove, rhododendron, azalea

Oh, there's no way to keep her out of them. The rhodies are 6-8' tall hedges along our fence line that borders her new friend. If I pull them, we'll have to put up a privacy fence. The azaleas are 2-3' hedges along the other fence. I can pull the foxglove easy; I've been doing that all along uninten...

Foxglove, rhododendron, azalea

What's the likelihood a dog would eat these? We had this gorgeous plant volunteer. I used to pull it up every time it poked its head up because I thought it was a weed. Then I had no time to do any weeding this year and it grew 4' tall and bloomed. Turns out it's foxglove. Totally toxic to dogs. Whi...
