Re: Feeding help!

I don't know about Cushings and you've already received good tips, but I do know Roscoe's and Nicky's vets and the bearded dragon forum experts and my grandma's doctor have all recommended "calories in any form" when they've each gone off food for a while. It seems not to be a species specific bit o...

I love it lots and lots.

I like "wise." Our nosework instructor calls Bella and the other older dog in class "the women of wisdom."

My room ended up not being as sound resistant as I had thought. We went for a country drive for a few hours with Bella in the van. :p All was quiet after 1, though.

Re: Checking in -4th of July edition

Our town is having fireworks at the fairgrounds each night this weekend, which surprisingly has seemed to cut down the neighborhood pops and booms. Tomorrow should be insane, though. Vancouver, WA - which is where Oregonians go to get their illegal fireworks - banned the not safe and not sane firewo...

Re: No more dogs on my bed, ever!

I can't even imagine sleeping with a dog! I've recently allowed all 8.5 lbs of Scout in bed, and she's a PITA half the time. DH is working on training her to sleep at the foot of the bed, but it's slow going since I'm a deep sleeper. She wakes me up enough to lose good sleep but not enough to shove ...

Did you post a video of it on FB? I saw it and saved it. There was also a woman making one at chicken camp today. :) As for cutting fleece, I found rolling cutter was fastest for being straight and even. Which reminds me, I totally forgot to mail your tug toys way back when!! I put it off because Ze...

Re: Advice please... Tail and neuter issues

Your friend is probably right, but I would have a very hard time not writing a VERY lengthy rebuttal. Unbelievable!!! That's the actions of a guilty conscience. You said nothing that implied anything about her breeding, yet she saw it. The lady doth protest too much?

Wouldn't cosmetic dentistry to meet show standard be cheating and not "merely" inhumane? Isn't the purpose of a show to demonstrate the quality of your dog to go on to produce quality puppies?

Re: new van! Bella doesn't like it :(

I was wondering if she could do the chewies in the crate—do you think she's already too upset as soon as the ride starts to want to chew stuff?
Good question. Right now she is. Maybe I'll have her do some chewies in her crate without it moving to begin with.

Re: new van! Bella doesn't like it :(

Would she chew something for a long time, then eventually feel less trigger-happy, and have a chiller ride rest of the way? Hmmm, we've never tried because we always had the two of them on a Civic backseat, which is not conducive to high-value, long-lasting treats. :p Maybe that could be an option ...

Re: new van! Bella doesn't like it :(

To answer in no particular order: If she's in a crate, she has to be on the floor. Her crate is a standard 42", which barely fits her. Mostly she has been in the back. The back row is fold flat and her crate is on top of those. But last night I tumbled the front seats and put her almost directly beh...

new van! Bella doesn't like it :(

We bought a minivan especially so that we can take Bella with us as many places as we can. But now we think that she doesn't like it much. She used to pant in our old minivan when we drove around, but at the time we didn't know much and didn't think too hard about it. Well, after four years of no va...

Re: Advice please... Tail and neuter issues

After all of this with his breeder, is there a breed club you can at least lodge an objection with so someone doesn't end up in the same mess? Good grief, all you've been through and now your breeder won't stand behind you? It's crap. I'm glad you saved me having to type up my thoughts, maxs_mommy....

Re: CAT-related: excessive urine?

Ugh! I don't think she's holding it. She pees 2-3 times a day, at least once on the floor if not all three times. It's the same flooring, so I don't think it's an absorption issue. I am now officially worried about kidneys and will take her to the vet again. The spots are also much more dilute than ...

CAT-related: excessive urine?

Scout is still peeing on the floor. She reduced the frequency for a while with a switch to clay litter but went back to "normal" after a few months and I recently switched back to Swheat Scoop because it's easier to clean up and not as panic inducing if Bella gets into it (which she does about 2-3 t...

Re: Login loop

I try to login via phone every once in a while and it's always a no go. I've just never logged out on my iPad, so I don't know if I would have been able to log in. And regular computer is fine.

Anyway- all of a sudden, I'm able to log in via phone again. Did something change?
