I bet you've never seen a racehorse quite like **this** one!

This is my Jack Russell Terrier, Scribbles. Thanks to the poster known here as Sweetgrass Farm, Scribbles has several costumes. One of them is a jockey. Scribbles recently took her jockey lure coursing, which is pretty much her doggie drug of choice. Enjoy ... those who saw it certainly did. r...

Re: Thank you, Jill Marie! [gift swap pics inside!]

Aw, I'm so glad he (and you) liked it all. I had a lot of fun putting it together. Scribbles ADORES the mousie in the ball! We go through a goodly number of them, but yes, it requires supervision. It's actually a cat toy but much like the "teaser tails," mousie ball is a terrier favorite. ...

Re: A new aggression problem?

I've got no suggestions for you. I do know that I was told by many people to watch out when Oliver had seizures as some dogs, even the best of friends, might attack when he was having one. Something instinctual about going after a "defective" packmate. I was lucky that it never happened, but it was...

A new aggression problem?

I hope this is the right forum for this question; if not, please move it. Sailor, my terrier mix of about 7 years old, had spinal surgery for two (yes, two) ruptured discs a couple of months ago. He is doing fantastic but we're having Fight Club problems with my 2-year-old (recently spayed) ...

And ... yeah ... THAT showed up a whole lot larger than I imagined, LOL.

As I said earlier, there were other cool things, but they have been consumed and/or ripped apart. Good terrier fun. :-D

OK, clearly I need to transfer the photo onto my laptop and go from there to resize it. Will do! And here I was trying to do it the easy way, LOL.

Re: Holiday Swap PHOTO Reminder!

Yes indeedy! Sherri does LOVE to harass me, LOL.

I will try to upload the phone pic ... and I fear some of the great gifts have already been eaten and/or destroyed. But Bari sent some terrier-ific things, and Scribbles and her housemates enjoyed them immensely and immediately.

Re: Financial commitment for showing a dog to titles

Well, one thing I **can** say for certain: It's A LOT cheaper than campaigning show hunters, LOL. Sabine and I do the same Jack trials (or most of them, at any rate), but I admit to doing cheaper motels. :banghead: There aren't nearly the number of JRTCA trials here in the Western states within driv...

... A variation on a theme, but ... When you make the car dealer PROVE to you that the car you're looking at will hold everything you need for a weekend terrier trial.

Re: 2013 JRTCA Nationals

Sherri, it sounds like you and Mac had a WONDERFUL hunt! I am jealous. I cannot imagine the absolute thrill you had seeing Mac and Dax work so well in the field, such a credit to your breeding. I think you need to send that story in to the JRTCA for True Grit. And the pictures, including gra...

Again, thanks much! Scribbles is very prey-driven, but she also likes to figure things out. Food is less of a deal to her. I will definitely try to find a class for us.

Re: Please talk to me about NOSEWORK!!

Oh, THANKS so much! That is really helpful. That makes more sense than what a couple of people had told me re the scents; they said they were hiding favorite toys and the dogs were supposed to find them. Which wouldn't really work for Scribbles; she likes toys but she'd much rather be out hunting. I...

Please talk to me about NOSEWORK!!

I am interested in getting started; I did a quick search on the board and see that several of you participate, but I didn't see anything that spells out specifics for newbies. Scribbles, my wild woman Jack, does very well in Trailing and Locating (following the scent trail) and in Barn/Brush...

Re: 7th Annual "What Are You Gonna Do With Your Dogs?" threa

My goals with Scribbles are fairly straightforward: Get her to more Jack Russell Terrier trials! Plus, I would like to get involved with the Barn Hunt Assn. events and maybe, if I can squeeze it around work, a nose work class. What I should **actually** be doing with her is working on recall, since ...

Anyone else going through back-surgery recovery?

If so, please chime in! My 7(ish)-year-old terrier mix, Sailor, blew out two discs (L3 and L4) and underwent surgery on Sept. 20. He has done very, very well (yay!) and is walking on-leash for 15 minutes a day now, as well as undergoing his daily PT and general getting about the house. We do...

Hello!

Hi, everyone. My name is Jill-Marie, and I live in Southern California.
