Re: early spay/neuter

So at what age do you folks think is better to have a male dog neutered 6 months or 1 year? And why.. I am only asking because I don't know what is better due to so many conflicting views on the Internet and vet advice. I don't have a new fur baby yet but hope to in the future. I like to be prepared.

Re: Ronan is acting really weird. Thoughts?

Agree wholeheartedly with Connie. Hair in his stool? Did they do an abdominal X-ray? Could he have chewed and swallowed a piece of one of his toys? I also would get him to a vet asap, anxiety meds are totally inappropriate for the way he is feeling.

Re: Dr. Dodds info on Heart Worm

I can't honestly answer that Kevin. But hopefully some of the more knowledgeable folks here will let us know, perhaps Sabine, Connie, Sherri, Lisa? A big shout out to all of our favorites :) I thought this was an interesting and helpful article from Dr. Dodds website, but I would have look to see wh...

Re: Goodbye, Harry. I love you.

Kevin, I can tell you what I am going to do differently. Totally home cook with a diet from Sabine. NO vaccinations after their puppy shots. I will get titers and find a vet who will let me do it that way. I was reading on a different board for Havanese. this owner only had the puppy shots done, and...

Yes Kevin, the healing will come,....slowly,..but it will come. Be kind to yourself Kevin. "I've lost my faith in God because of this",...oh yeah,...it is called the dark night of the soul,...but that too will come back to you. And so will Harry,...he will come back to you, our soul dogs always do. ...

Re: Goodbye, Harry. I love you.

Aww Kevin. *hugs* I have the shirt hanging in my bedroom that I was wearing when I had to say goodbye to Quigley, when he was snuggling in my arms for the very last time. It's been over a year and I haven't washed or worn it again since then. There's no smell left by now, but I just can't bear to d...

Kevin, I am so very sorry. I can only echo what everyone else has stated here. I know all too well the pain you are going through. And yes I would have given my right arm for my little guy not to have gone through the evil of cancer. He passed away July 2012,...it still cuts deep into my heart. The ...

Re: Itchy dog update

I agree Lisa about the safflower oil. I was not recommending it only stating what my little guys regimen was, that's what his oncologist had told us to give him. Yes very different from recommendations for mast cell cancer regimen. I agree with the flax. Wish I would have consulted with you when I w...

One note on the Hollywood Safflower oil though, some homeopathic physicians don't like it i.e. Dr. Dressler. (you can check out his website.)

Re: Itchy dog update

No, I also gave Hepatosupport ( It comes in a capsule form and I would open the capsule and add to to his food,..he was never good at taking pills, and I hated puting them down his throat. If I hid it in his treats, he would always spit it out or eat around it,..lol.( Hepatosupport that was the name...

Besides reading Connie's book on Sander, I also read Dr. Dressler's blog site on homeopathic treatments. He does have alot of info on mast cell tumors. Yes it does have the transfer factor in it. But Sabine had told me the human formulation was better, sorry I don't recall why. I do very much know how you are feeling. Yes VolnTitan, I have heard of this. When I consulted with Sabine she recommended the human transfer factor not the canine. I would consult with her regarding the dosage and the proper one to buy.
