Re: Much ado about nothing - i hope

Mine occasionally sound like they're killing each other and it's usually because someone's too close to someone else's bone. Never develops into anything, thank goodness, except with Tessa and Penny and that's a whole 'nother issue (dominant bitches!! LOL)

I don't like greenies myself, Claire, but always appreciate updates and "fyi"s like this :)

I had no idea they'd made a new recipe for greenies. Thanks for the info :)

Re: She's a bratty bully b****

<r>Well, I've never yet seen Charlie go after any of the girls for any reason whatsoever BUT he does guard his bones when he has them (Tessa tends to hover way too close - she's obnoxious <E>:)</E>) but he's never ever initiated anything or gone after one of them but min pins are well known for that...

No idea but I think I'd take him to your regular vet (since he's so good and so thorough) and have him fully checked over just to be sure.

Re: how much should i feed??

<r>Yes, over feeding can cause loose stools. Is there an amount on the bag for "less active" dogs? If not, I'd try feeding him maybe 3 cups a day and see how he does. If he gains weight, lessen it by 1/2 cup a day until you find an amount that works well and maintains his weight for him. <E>:)</E> I...

Can you supplement feed him and maybe carry him around with you by your heart sometimes to give him some extra lovings and food? Or would that help? I hope he pulls through okay :(

Re: More slug-like than usual - should I worry?

Mike's away three days a week EVERY WEEK. That is his schedule. They still act like he's been gone a year EVERY WEEK when he gets home. It's so funny. I'm, like, what am I? Chopped liver???? Sheesh!!!

Glad all is well :)

Will the vet come to your house? Especially since it's so near Saints??? Or can you get someone to help you lift him into the car? That sucks :(

Re: More slug-like than usual - should I worry?

<r>Does Paul go away often? If he doesn't, I wouldn't worry TOO much. If he does and they usually DON'T act like this, I'd take his temp, give him a good going over, maybe a quick trip to the vet to be sure??? You know him best so I'd rely on your instincts in this case. If you think something is "o...

Re: was feeding raw, now Urban Wolf

Thanks, Fiona :) but I feed raw from Totally Raw Dog Food ( Totally Raw Dog Food ) but if I fed kibble, I'd definitely look into it - it sounds wonderful. Wonder if they have cat food? I'll have to look - my cats are still on kibble :)

Re: Best way to examine poop?

Do you have a magnet you could use? Are the needles magnetic?

What about a plastic ice cream container you poke holes into so you can swish it with water, swirl it around, dissolve it until the needle shows?

Ugh.... hope you find it, though :)

Re: Poor Charlie

<t>From all that I have read on the subject, and I have read a ton since Tessa was diagnosed, luxating patella does not just "go away" after rest. It can stay the same forever or it can get worse and worse with time. Tessa's seems to have settled and hopefully it won't get worse with time. We aren't...
