Re: Are there more reactive dogs now, or am I just way more crabby?

dunno, I was pretty much terrified of running into other dogs, and developed lizard-owl vision (360º) and jingly tag super auditory powers (≤ mile away depending on the way the wind is blowing), and could tell from waaaaay out in the distance if a human was walking with a loose dog, just from the w...

I’m Petsitting for my brother this week, and his pug who I am convinced was never actually fully housebroken to begin with, has developed incontinence. He can hold his urine, but he doesn’t seem to even notice when he’s pooping and there doesn’t seem to be any warning g that he’s about to do it. He’...

Re: How can I un-create the monster I created?

Well, that was an easy fix. :) It must be bedpeeing season - Scout recently started this behavior. Since DH is the one who gets home first and has to do clean up duty, he fully understands the "not liking very much" feeling. Anyway, my point was going to be this: I got a plastic tablecloth at Target...

Canceling definitely sounds like the right decision. I’m sorry your experience was terrible. I wish you could visit connie’s chiro and my acupuncturist.

I think alternative med vets are the hot breed right now, so there are a lot of backyard breeder level practitioners. It’s sad. :(

Re: Got Stay? May 2018 Training Challenge

I decided to train Scout stay. She has renewed her interest in bolting out the door, and Bella’s creakiness makes going in and out our slider a longer production some days. Teaching a thirteen year old brat cat to stay is, well, challenging. I’m not sure it will happen, but her love of treats is a p...

Re: Old dog, two story house

Or is it like a "daylight lot" where you can have both the front door at street level, but the lot slopes so that the basement can be ground level in the back? I think so. It looks like a standard ranch house from the front, but the back side looks like a two story house. We decided against it. Got...

Re: Old dog, two story house

I think he missed seeing neighbors & dogs regularly. -- This wouldn't be a problem with Bella, I don't think. I think her stress level might actually go down without seeing neighbors and dogs regularly. She does like to watch the world go by, but she has "opinions" about how some of them are doing i...

Good for the rescue. I hope it was just miscommunication. I’ve often responsed to parents wth “might” and “maybe” when I know it’s a 99% done deal but can’t say anything because technically the board has to approve.

Old dog, two story house

Two story house, main living and sleeping space on second floor. How big a hassle would it be with an old, creaky dog who is used to basically having doormen at her beck and call because her current house is configured in such a way that her humans are never more than a few steps away from a door to...

really like Poms too. They are always a kick to have in class. I remember a Pom puppy from one of your puppy classes, and whenever I think about how I’d like a smaller dog next time, I think of him. I also remember you saying you always liked Pom puppies If it weren’t for the coat, I think a Pom wo...

Henry needs to work on duration. He "forgets" that he's working, or comes to remind me "hey lady! I'm doing good work over here, are you noticing?" We should be able to get 1 minute, but I'd really like 3 or 5 minutes. Stretch goals! lol That is Bella with her "go to mat" during meals. We tend to b...

The main reason I stopped competing is that I don't want to have to compete for the option of competing. I guess it's different now but I HATED having to be at my computer to enter instantly as soon as the trial opened and hope you were fast enough. I also didn't like the idea of taking time off to ...
