Finally another UKC trial! It's too bad that there are so few in So Cal. We had an ok run today, getting our first leg in Level 2 (equivalent to AKC Advanced) with a score of 83, and first place. Out of 5 dogs, 3 qualified. UKC rally is scored much more strictly than AKC, and there's no IP (improper performance, 10 points off but you still qualify if your total score is 70 points or better), so I'm very happy with it. Today was really windy, which always seems to add to Quigley's inexhaustible energy , and he was very wound up already after several days of not getting out to do much, so after our run I expected to not even have qualified. We had to re-do two exercises, which means lots of points off. We have another run tomorrow, and hopefully will be able to earn the second leg. The next UKC trial around here will be mid-January, 2 days with 2 runs each, so it would be nice if we could get our 3rd leg for Level 2 there and use the remaining 3 runs to complete Level 3. If that doesn't work out, we won't have another chance to try until April. Some more photos

I love that picture! You are looking particularly awesome. And congrats. A Q is a Q, even if it wasn't beautiful. Good luck today. This is my mantra. In the end, no one knows what your score was, so yay for the Qs!!! And I love that pic ...

Yay, we got that second leg today! Our score is the same as yesterday, 83, but today it was only enough for 3rd place. Close though, the team in 1st place scored 85 and the one in 2nd place 84. They definitely deserved it though. Today my handling got us some deductions though, Quigley was less squirrely and heeled better, but I didn't do a 90 degree pivot as tightly as I should and there were a couple other things. More photos here My favorite shot from today:

Yay bald neat Quigley did it again Yay for another Q! Don't mind me, I'm just amused at how different he looks when he's handstripped
