I got a macbook pro not that long ago and I'm stumped as to how to minimize the size of pics so I can post them on ODO! I've done some searching but just can't figure it out.

On my PC I used to resize w/ paint . . . I'm sure there is a really easy way to resize photos on the mac since it's supposed to be easier to use, but I can't figure it out.

Any mac users help me out?

I usually upload an original size pic to flickr and it gives you size options with which to post it on other places on the internets. And if you get a greasemonkey script for firefox it puts it into UBB code conveniently.

I also have some photo editing software that can do the trick but usually i don't bother making the images actually small.

But there are free photo editing programs that you can download, and just resizing things. I don't remember any offhand but they're around.

You can open iPhoto, drag whatever pictures you want to the desktop and then edit then in any photo editing software you like: Photoshop or whatever.

Photoshop has a wonderful Save For Web choice for instantly making small pics for the web and email.

You can email them right of iPhoto super easy: just choose the photo and click on the email button, and choose SMALL, and it makes it small for you and puts it in an email.

Thanks for the info guys! Tatyana I'll have to take a look at that website - looks promising. Jeano, I think I accomplished it using your drag to desktop method. Why didn't I think of that??

I size my pics for posting on my Mac by attaching them to an e-mail that I then save; the e-mail program (I'm using Mail) allows me to choose the size of the pic. Once I've made it the size I want, I save it again as that size, and delete the unsent e-mail.

I'm sure there's a better way to do it, but this does work.

?? iPhoto lets you do pretty much anything a light version of PS would do--there's crop, and adjustments, and also export for various sizes. You don't need to do any workaround steps involving email. smile
