ugh just got home a half hour ago. didn't go quite as well, considering the numbers of people there and how long we were out there. too much drama. and scary seeing 2 of my own patients there

Oh, it's so annoying when the drama gets in the way of rescue events going smoothly. It's bad enough when it's something like dog sports but you'd think egos could go pound sand for long enough to show rescue operations in their best light and get some support - not to mention adoptive homes.

Oh, sorry, bit of a hot button there. Gah.

Deep breaths and maybe a bubble bath to you. Good for you for dedicating your time anyway!

Patients? As potential adoptive homes?

unfortunately many families took the opportunity to come by mainly to just let their kids pet the dogs, not necessarily adopt. which i understand, but if it were my child, i would make sure first to ask if the dogs were friendly enough to be petted before letting my 2 year old stick their tasty fingers through the cage (we do have one chihuahua mix right now who's known to nip kids right after playing nice and cute with them). we're not there to just be a petting zoo!

the patients were part of the crowd there - don't know how serious they were about adopting, or whether they were one of the many i complained about above
