Havana and I have a chance to go out and do a couple of dog safety talks at pre-schools. Everyone loves a dog who can do tricks and I thought it might be fun for Havana to show off tricks that also help the kids remember important things. So far I have:

- "What do you do before you cross the road?" Stop (moving stand), Look (turn head to left and right), and Listen (cock head)

- "What should you do if your clothes are on fire?" Stop (moving stand), Drop (fast down), and Roll (roll over)

- "What do you do if a stranger comes up to you?" Yell to tell your parents (bark) and Run to get them (utility go out)

Are there any other simple things that kids should remember that Havana can teach them?

"Don't take candy from a stranger". I assume Havana is much better at ignoring food offered to her than Oliver is. lol

Well, we know she can bark to tell her parents, that's hereditary!! lol

I used to do a cute routine with one of mine years ago - she did "greetings from around the world" - bow (royalty), wave (distance), and shake hands (business). It was pointless but got a lot of smiles when she was doing expos and such!

Don't touch strange things and put them in your mouth. ( even my 3rd graders still need to remember this one!) (leave it)

( and yes I am guilty of telling my kids---leave it ---halt---forward---sit---stay--- lol )
