Has anyone ever used this as a training tool? Since I will most likely be moving into an apartment soon, I'm trying to get the dogs ready too, and be a decent neighbor. I don't mind the dogs barking when the doorbell rings, but a barkfest whenever a leaf blows by will get old really fast, and possibly jeapordize my rental agreement. My dogs are not real barkers, but I'm not sure how they will do if they hear hallway noises, sounds from above and below, etc, so I want to be prepared if possible.
So I saw this Bark Free thing and wondered if I can use it to wean the dogs from serious barking. It's supposed to send out a whistle or noise to the dog if they exceed the pre-approved and pre-set number of barks. I'm wondering if I turn it on when I'm home, and follow up the stoppage of bark with a treat (ie positive association - no bark too much = treat) then when I'm not home and the thing is on they will naturally ease up on the barks?
Trying to be a considerate neighbor here, and have about a month to work with the dogs. And I can't always be around to stop them, so...
