I want to tell everyone about an event being held on September 6th at Ironwood Outdoor Center in Lumberton NJ. They are hosting the first annual Dog Days to include dog swimming in their 2 pools, playing in their completely fenced-in pool area, and prizes in an effort to support dog rescue.

Dog Days of September is being sponsored by the Tri-State Weimaraner Rescue. Local rescues, businesses and organizations will also be joining in to make this a fun and memorable event for our 4 legged family members.

There will be two sessions, small dog session (under 30 lbs) 10am-12pm and a large dog session (dogs over 30 lbs) 1pm-3pm.

Entrance fee is $5 per dog and $2 per person. All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Please do not bring dogs with aggression issues.

I’ve been here for Weimaraner picnics and it’s a super place, all fenced and huge area for play and covered picnic tables.

NOTE: Anyone with a small AND a large dog, you can bring both as long as the one is leashed for the other's swim session. I will gladly volunteer to mind your one dog while you are watching the other swim!

What a fun idea for a fundraiser! I hope they make lots of money so they have the event every year.

Too bad we're going to be away that weekend. What a great idea.
