I was so tired after the show that I didn't take a photo with the ribbon, but I did want to report our progress. We scored 87 points, which got us 4th place out of 12 entries. I'm a bit bummed because I made a mistake that cost us 10 points, so this could have been a 97. All the blame is on me though , Quigley performed really well. Unfortunately we NQ'd at yesterday's trial (my poor dog kept getting tangled up in a leash we hadn't previously used, and due to that he didn't perform two exercises properly), so now it will be a while before we can complete our RN. I guess we'll have a busy winter!

Oh, Rally sounds so interesting. I was talking about it with a lady who is likely to do it with a dog I adopted to her. That's the one thing that really bites about being so far about everything - the dog training centers are all so far. If we could get trained, we are actually relatively close to three competitive centers, but there's the training.
I really admire your commitment. Go Quigley! You'll have that RN in no time.

Congratulations. Seems every time I get a chance to check out ODO, Quigley has a new ribbon!

Thanks everyone! I'm very proud of my little guy. Especially since our instructor was entered in the same trial, was watching and congratulated us on our run. I can't believe it - one more leg and we'll move on to off-leash - Rally Advanced. I signed up for the next available Rally Advanced class today, hopefully I'll get in. Space is limited to 8 people, students already enrolled in the ongoing class get preferential treatment, and the next class doesn't start until early November. Some of my club members are competing in the Advanced Excellent class, meaning they have to get qualifying scores in both the Advanced and Excellent class of each trial they enter to earn legs. Talk about pressure!

Jen, you've seen Quigley do Rally in Goleta, and I know you would be sooo impressed if you could see the improvement! I do admit though, AKC rally is a lot easier than APDT rally. For example you can repeat commands as often as you want without losing points, whereas they are automatic deductions in APDT.

Congrats Quigley and Mordy! Well done ! I got to see my girlfriend, Sandy, run her dogs at an APDT Rally trial, and I have to admit it seems like fun. I wish I was closer so I could come watch you guys!
