Has anyone read this book by Kevin Trudeau? I just got it, I find the book very interesting but a bit on the fanatical side. He seems obcessed that the FDA and government are trying to kill us.

i did some in-depth skimming of that book and frankly the guy is so paranoid and fanatic it scares me. He suggests you get 30 colonics in 30 days and he goes on about how poisonous and toxic everything is. While, its true, many things are toxic and we don't realize it, he seems a liiiiiittle crazy.

come to think of it, i don't even remember any "cures" except for a shower filter and all the colonics your intestines can handle. All i could focus on in that book was the paranoia.

Exactly, he is so fanatical and goes off on little rants throughout the book. He tells that there are cures but he cannot discuss them because the FDA will burn all his books! I don't know how Dr Weil got away with it all these years. Dr Weil has always given advise on how to heal yourself naturally and to this day I've never heard of any book burning ceramonies

Thank you Tatyana, I don't think I wasted my money per say but the book is weird. He makes a few valid points...but, I don't think I'm going to do many of his suggestions...except the part on weight loss I might try some of his examples

Google that guy and you will find out what he is about...he's just a gimmick tv dude who doesn't even have any training in holistic health...just out to make a buck.

I think Robin's correct, I've found the same thing in reading about this guy. From what I can determine, his 'cure all' is colon cleansing, which seems in some circles to be the Fountain of Youth, Cure for All Cancers, and Guarantee of Immortality.

I read some very similar stuff -- Hulda Clark, etc. -- when I was reading up on cancer after Sander was diagnosed. There's no statistical support ever provided for the claims made.

Yes, I feel like I'm reading the ramblings of a raving lunatic.
I appreciate the feedback, since I bought it I'm still going to read it. It may be good for a chuckle or two. I was a bit thrown off when it seems he just goes off on rants for pages and pages.

There are some things that Hulda says that make sense to me.....but being an herbal hippy as my friends call me, for a long time now, I have learned to be more middle of the road. I do believe that our health has a lot to do with our gut and I do a cleanse at least once a year....but I sure am not willing to say that colon cleanses cure anything...and I am not signing up for daily colonics.....in fact, as much as I hate the FDA, I want to be their "friend", so I don't say that anything "cures" a disease.....you just can't do that nowadays without them down your back and the reason they are that way now is because of whackos like this guy and radicals like Hulda who claimed all this magic. This came up in the 80's with Shark Cartilage and all the places claiming it cured cancer....Sort of ruined it for the rest of us.

While I don't know anything about his "cures", I actually buy more in to his claims about the FDA than not.

They do spend a lot of time going after natural supplements and such rather than doing their job with pharmaceutical companies. I do a bit of reading about many of the things that the FDA does and does not do, and frankly I think they do more harm than good.

Back to the cures -- I always thought that the things that he writes about probably have some truth to them, but certainly aren't the magic bullet that he claims. If I had the extra time, i would read his books, or at least roughly go through them. When I've done that at the store, I've never found things he has said regarding the supplements, etc. to be untrue. Maybe having some evidence that these supplements work are miracles to some, but most of us on this board, we know the power of these things. And that claim I think really diminishes his message, and is probably what gets the FDA after him.


Mind you, I didn't read the part about the colon cleansing. However, some really do believe that that really is "all that", don't they?

Kevin Trudeau is a crock and he has the criminal background to prove it--he has no credentials to back up anything he says. It's amazing how many people will believe someone just because they publish a book. He's got a new book out on money secrets now.

I remember quite some time ago, thumbing through that at Borders and I passed on it. Have you caught the info commercial he does? Spending a good thirty minutes on his book won't make me buy it. A lot of books like his or ones I see advertized in book reviews I look up through our LA library system. If they have it I can add my name to the list of people wanting to check the book out - saves me quite a bit of money that way. Sometimes the books are almost like the movies you waited until they came out on CD - you'r glad you didn't waste your money going to see them in the theatre, or in the case of books, taking up shelf space at home.

The problem with books like this is that for folks that are already resistant to some of the ideas, he really turns them off.

I don't think the messages are all bad, but i certainly don't like the messenger.

Lisa you are correct. He goes on little temper tantrums throughout the book in regards to pharmaceuticals etc. It is a turn off.

I just bought 2 of Dr Weils books that I have been wanting Spontaneous Healing and Natural Health Natural Medicine. Dr Weil discusses the pro's of natural healing and the cons of conventional...from what I know the government nor pharmaceuticals have ever tried to shut him down or have his books destroyed.
