So I'm sure you all know my difficulties w/ Caesar and squirrels - basically his inability to control himself around them.
Anyway, they seem to be out in full force right now, especially in our front yard and neighbor's yard across the street.
I'm taking a two-pronged approach: 1) I've covered up the lower portion of our huge front window w/ window screen (until we can find some cool blinds that raise upwards) so he can't bark maniacally at them.
2) If we see one I try to make him do some sort of obedience command prior to me letting him get to go after it - if it's on our street I can't let him off leash but I let him pull me to it, only if he's done a command first (premack I guess).
So this morning heading home from our walk we were about to go up our front steps when this blasted squirrel zipped by us. Of course C lunged, but wait, get ready for this . . . I got him to sit for 3 seconds(!) before I let him try to find the squirrel in the front yard. It actually ran up a telephone pole and for the life of me I couldn't get him to look upwards

Anyway, that's my miniscule progress - getting him to sit for 3 seconds in squirrel zone!
