lol I just have to say, someone gave me Cesar's Way a long time ago and it just sits unopened collecting dust under my bed. I really don't know what to do with it - can't throw it away, don't want to give it away to some poor soul . . .

You should join paperbackswap.com, connie! List your books and mail them to someone who requests them, and then you get to request books you want! Senders pay media mail rate (or first class, if it's cheaper). Since you're willing to pay shipping anyway, you might as well get some more books out of it. smile I'm jeninslo on there. smile

(oh, and even though it's called paperbackswap, you can send/request hardback and audio books, too.)

Yes, I am so surprised that it hasn't been snapped up yet! rofl
I am usually against throwing books in the garbage, but I might make an exception for Mr. M.

Actually, Connie, I'd be willing to take it. *Checks. World is still spinning on its axis.* I want to know what's in it so I can counter the ideas I disagree with, but I can't bring myself to pay money for it since I know he'll benefit.

What I'll probably do is go through it with a red pen and then pass it on to the other trainers I work with to do the same. Then we may have a book burning. Something's got to heat up those brats for our cook outs! Although I may have to wait to read it until after the baby is born since I don't want to raise my blood pressure too much.

If I was still working in training, I'd do the same thing. I was thinking about offering to take it too, just to be better able to change pro-ceasar people's minds. But since I don't have to have that argument every day anymore, it's not worth the anger that reading that book would cause. lol

I must be the only one here who doesn't hate Caesar, i swear. I don't particularly love him and do find myself disagreeing and seeing unsound cookiecutter methods on his show... but I usually find myself yelling at the owner on screen, rather than Caesar.

I'll live without the book though wink

Oh, I got a taker on the Cesar book, Calypso, just before you posted. So it did find a home.

I have to say, it's not a particularly bad book! (There are no bad books, only bad writers.) It's not like what I've heard his TV show was, at all. In the book he never advocates confrontational physical techniques; it's all about how you need to exercise the dog, feed the dog, and give attention to the dog -- in that order. For clueless dog owners, it's not a bad program. Dog owners who have a modicum of insight and/or experience will find it not particularly revelatory.

That said, I just don't care for Cesar the persona. The book I think was not a bad read; but I also didn't find the Monks of New Skete's book vile, I just didn't care for their methods because I think they were from the old 'grab 'em and boss 'em' days -- but I also remember those days and just how prevalent those methods were. Makes me appreciate the advances in that area.
