Been so busy forgot to post about our NADAC trial. Really different. Very wide, flowing courses..and NO course maps to study. eeks!
We had some nice qualifying runs for the kids. We didn't enter enough runs to earn any titles, but we did have some major successes and loads of fun.
I learned that the tunnelers course is the SAME course for all levels, meaning we all run the same course. I was soo worried I would get lost and I didn't!! yahoo!!
I had some annoying people with bc's comment on my black bi aussie. I stood up and told them that I did not get him for his color.
People are weird. I just wanna play with my dog, I am soo tired of the certain breeds are better than other breeds politics that some people have. I had some people think my little chiefy from the front was really a smaller border collie, which I could see until they saw no tail...then I got weird questions...similar to what I get asked about Jamba.
There was professional photog there and we got some NICE pics of the kids too.
Anyhow, lots of fun, success and nice runs earning Q's. When we NQ' we still earned 1st places against all the other dogs in our heights.
Regardless of the Q's, it is just fun being able to play with my dogs. Q's are just the cherry.

Sounds like a great weekend for you, despite the occasional annoying people. So did you have all 3 dogs there? And does the photog have a website so I can gaze adoringly at pics of your dogs?
Try not to let the people get to you. I think there are those types regardless of what you do. I know I see it in some of my activities - knitting is better than crochet; road biking is superior to mountain biking; piano is bettter than wind instruments, etc. There will always be people who think their "X" is better than other people's "Y". I figure they're the ones missing out by being close minded and feel sorry for them rather than PO'd (or at least I try to; I'm not always successful).

I LOVE how excited Chiefy looks in the first one of him, like there's nothing at all in the entire world better than running through a tunnel.
(And I saw a gorgeous one of Ms. Stomper going over a jump, all sleek and focused. She should enter a body building contest. )

There's great dog people, crazy dog people and snooty dog people. The great dog people seem to be some of the nicest people on earth. The rest well..... We love your little "bc in the front aussie in the rear" dog and your mini man and your scary staffy too Glad you had fun. I get so lost and befuddled in AAC/USDAA type courses I LOVE NADAC!

Those are great pics! Very nice. Congrats on the Qs and placements. You know, Marci? I don't mean to sound snotty, and I hope it doesn't come across as such, but my advice would be to not think too hard or look too deeply into people's comments. A lot of people just want to talk to hear themselves talk , and honestly, maybe they were just curious about your dogs. Now, granted, I'm sure you realize you may get *some* flack from the die-hard aussie people over Chief being a mini. BUT, the important thing is you know what great dogs you've got. Just let other people's comments or thoughts on their breeds roll off your back. It's not worth it. (And I speak from experience, although luckily I get very few "husky" comments these days. )

Yeah I usually just let them talk and then respond in an appropriate way. I just am shocked about people not realizing that they are what they are. It is kind weird ya know? I usually get nothing about Chiefy being a mini from them, they usually harp on Jamba, which is really really odd. Oh well, as I said people are strange. I think some just have a hard time realizing dogs come in colors ...who knows. Oh and Paula, you snotty?
