A friend on a dachsie board was told about a stray pitbull a few miles from her house. Having known only the "bad rap" the dogs get, she went to see him and little by little fell in love. She would bring food and water daily trying to get him to come to her so she could help him. After a few weeks of looking forward to her visits and recognizing her car, he got to being just about 5 feet away. That's when a neighbor called Animal Control and they set a trap.

We viewed this as a blessing in disguise. Now, he'd be in the new state of the art shelter and out of the hot sun. However, the shelter was a kill shelter and from the minute he was taken in, my friend worked to get a rescue for him (she cannot take him herself). She has secured a rescue who will take him on May 5th. She is paying for his kenneling (until they have room in a home, if that happens) with them for 3 months. She has care packages and a crate for him.

We just want to see "Bandit" get a good home. If anyone knows someone looking for a sweetie of a dog who just wants to be loved (and not brought from place to place) please let me know. He is in Sierra Vista (I think) until Tuesday.

I have more pics if you'd like them.

oh my I am in love! He reminds me of stomper's pal that was a deaf pittie and the only dog that he could play with was her. He didn't do well with other dogs. Cooper was a sweetie and probably Stomper's first boyfriend.

Hey Stacy, could you PM me specifics? Age, weight, disposition??

The next dog we get will be my husbands dog as he lost Lloyd two years ago, he loves the pitties. But convincing him we need another one is a whole nother story.

What rescue will take him??

Bandit is now being kenneled in Phoenix. He will be available for adoption via Benji's Buddies. He did not want to go into the kennel there. Apparently he is super loving and loves getting attention and is good with other dogs, etc. If anyone is looking for a pittie in the AZ area, check him out. Maybe they can arrange transport too. I know my friend would help drive him (but she is over 3 hours away from Phoenix).
