I have came up with a idea. To list all common breeds are asked every day "Where to find breeder for ___" Or "Where find this breed group___" It's all here for the noobs/newbies

Not all are listed everywhere just varieties I listed UK Kennel Clubs, Canada, USA and even rescue groups/Kennel Clubs from all over the world not just USA. You can always check your local listing at www.petfinder.com for USA Shelters. Also you can go onto any of these Kennel Clubs and ask for a breeder to referral you a rescue group or/and a reputable breeder in your area etc Australia Area to look for a reputable breeder http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/list.asp

Can I make a suggestion? Most Border Collies are actually registered with the ABCA - http://www.americanbordercollie.org/ And bcrescue.org is just one guy in Texas.

For newbie information on Border Collies, whether rescue or not, probably the best place to go is the Border Collie Boards. http://www.bordercollie.org/boards/index.php

Caveat, you will not find information on conformation showing of Border Collies there, except for information on why the sponsoring organization thinks it's a bad idea (the US Border Collie Club, the oldest BC breed club in North America - I'm on the BOD ;\) ).

The USBCC web site itself has a great deal of information on the breed, history, genetics, health, training, fun reading, and political issues: http://www.bordercollie.org

I don't think the point of the thread was opinions on the various groups. I think disparaging comments about specific rescue orgs or individual rescuers is prohibited here on ODO.

Or so I was told.

By the moderators.

Strange.

I edited it (removal of negative reference to bcrescue.org). I totally didn't realize I'd replied to the thread and not privately to Jennifer.

Is not Canada..it is based out of Texas...as I am good friends with those involved with STAAR. You might want to make a correction.

Just to clarify, disparaging comments about anyone are not acceptable, no matter if it is a person or group.
